Who is Ashley?
Ashley Sellers is a Digital Product Manager at Elements. She is also a member of the DEIB Council, a two-time alumni mentor for the Leadership Lab, and one of our Wellness champions. Even as a remote employee living in Seattle, Ashley is highly involved in our internal culture and professional development opportunities.
Recently, Ashley was recognized for helping the credit union push out an upgraded account opening platform to all branches and member-facing staff. She says, “This project has prompted me to wear many hats, including holding our vendor accountable, providing support to our staff, and being the subject matter expert with the product”. Ashley’s top five CliftonStrengths are Positivity, Empathy, Strategic, Woo, and Communication.
What does Ashley do?
Ashley drives enhancements to Online Banking and account opening platforms at Elements. This involves meeting regularly with the Steering Committee to discuss new ideas for the product roadmap. Her role includes collaborating with impacted business areas to gather business requirements, working with internal and external development teams, and overseeing approved projects to completion.
“I enjoy being part of the Strategy Realization team because we make data-driven decisions to enhance our products in ways that benefit both our members and employees,” she exclaims.
When did Ashley join Elements?
Ashley has always been passionate about helping others and knew her heart belonged in the credit union space. After spending nine years at a large bank, she decided to join Elements and has now been here for twelve years.
Why does Ashley enjoy working at Elements?
Not only does Ashley love working to improve Elements products, but she also enjoys the lifelong friends she’s formed and the flexibility of working remote. All of her strengths play a vital role in her position. Her strategic thinking strength enables her to think creatively and stay ahead on product enhancements and new capabilities. She uses her communication skills with both vendors and internal teams, tailoring her approach to fit each audience. Ashley has been called a strong “cheerleader”, which aligns with her Woo strength. Additionally, her positivity and empathy are two strengths that allow her to support team members in every situation.
Where can we find Ashley?
Outside of Elements, you’re likely to find Ashley hiking, reading her favorite book, crafting, or doing hot yoga. She also has a passion for traveling, and since moving to the West Coast, she’s explored Nevada, the Oregon coast, Mexico, and all the hidden gems in Washington state, where she currently resides.
What are some "fun facts" about Ashley?
- She had the incredible experience of singing at Carnegie Hall in high school as part of the Accents, an all-girls show choir – a memory she will always cherish.
- Ashley moved to Washington state seven years ago, leaving friends and family back in Indiana. Since then, her youngest sister has joined her, and they’ve truly made Washington their home. “I’m grateful for the friendships/relationships I’ve built, the memories I’ve created, and the future I’m building here”, she expressed.
- Ashley loves karaoke! When she first moved to Washington, she had her five “go-to” songs, but with karaoke being very popular there, she’s up for singing just about anything!
